The Parkside Family Counseling Staff

Therese is the agency director and lead clinician at Parkside Family Counseling. She received both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, and has been practicing as a clinical social worker since 1988.

Alicia brings an electrifying energy, passion, and creativity to her therapeutic interventions. She challenges clients to be devoted to their healing and growth in order to overcome obstacles. Alicia believes people reach their goals faster when they feel supported by a nonjudgmental therapist. She utilizes psychotherapy and other trauma-focused interventions, as well as various therapeutic modalities, including visual arts, music, and kinesthetic activities for young, restless clients. Alicia hopes to empower you, instill hope, teach you skills, and walk alongside you through the valleys and mountaintops of life.

Vicki Hall is a long time Adrian resident and has worked in the Behavioral Health field for over 31 years. She has been employed at Parkside Family Counseling since May, 2018 as the Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program Supervisor.

Aaron Benard is a compassionate and skilled social worker dedicated to supporting individuals and communities in achieving mental health and personal growth. A proud graduate of the University of Michigan's Master of Social Work program, Aaron specializes inInter personal Practice, Substance Abuse, and Mental Health. Before pursuing his advanced degree, Aaron earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University, where he cultivated a deep understanding of social work principles and developed a passion for helping underserved populations.

Vanessa has been a part of Parkside Family Counseling since 2013. She received a Bachelor's Degree in elementary and special education and a Master's Degree in school and community counseling. Before coming to Parkside Family Counseling, Vanessa worked 2 years as an elementary teacher and 5 years as a special education teacher for students with emotional and cognitive impairments, autism, Down’s syndrome, and learning disabilities.

Joanne has been a part of Parkside Family Counseling since 2003. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Spring Arbor University, and a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Siena Heights University. 

Amy joined Parkside Family Counseling in 2014. She received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Siena Heights University in 1995 and a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Michigan, School of Social Work in 1998.

Grady joined Parkside Family Counseling in 2016.  Grady completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Eastern Michigan University and his Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Michigan.

Scott Graham, LPC, completed his Master of Arts in Counseling at Spring Arbor University and comes to Parkside from Family Counseling and Children’s Services. Scott has also worked with the Christian Mission in Adrian.

Quincy Johnson Jr. is a dedicated youth advocate, mentor, mental health professional committed to empowering young people and strengthening communities. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, graduated from Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School and relocated to Adrian, Michigan, in 2020 to continue his academic and athletic career. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and later pursued a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Siena Heights University, graduating in 2026.

Heather Lucey is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she obtained her Master of Social Work Degree and subsequently became a Licensed Master Social Worker. Heather has interned with the Lenawee County Intermediate School District, and has worked as a clinical therapist with Family Counseling and Children’s Services.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Siena Heights University and my Master's Degree in Social Work from Barry University with a focus in Trauma-Informed Practice. Since 2020, I have gained experience across various social work fields, including Child Protective Services, Foster Care and Adoption, Social Emotional Learning Coaching, and as an Outpatient Therapist. These experiences have shaped my approach to therapy and given me a well-rounded understanding of the challenges individuals and families face.

Hello! I’m Briana, the Office Manager at Parkside Family Counseling. I love being part of a team that supports and connects with the community in meaningful ways, and I enjoy creating a welcoming environment where both clients and staff feel comfortable, supported, and valued.

As our Human Resources and Administrative Coordinator. I’m passionate about creating a positive and supportive workplace where employees can thrive. I enjoy helping people navigate their employee experience, from onboarding and day-to-day support to fostering a welcoming and organized office environment. With a strong attention to detail and a people-first approach, I take pride in ensuring both our team and operations run smoothly. I’m grateful to be part of a company that values collaboration, growth, and making a difference every day.
