Family Counseling, LLC
Louise is a Licensed Professional Counselor who began her career in Blissfield Community Schools. As a Behavioral Specialist, Louise counseled students regarding relationships, bullying, homelessness, anxiety, and depression. Transitioning to Blissfield Elementary allowed Louise the opportunity to provide individual and group counseling and to address topics such as friendship and socialization issues and grief and divorce support. When working with children Louise likes to incorporate play, art, and sand tray therapy into her sessions.
Louise began her private practice in 2017. In private practice Louise administered testing for ADD and ADHD, prepared clients for life altering procedures, and worked with individuals diagnosed with NLD (non-verbal learning disorder). Along with working with school-aged students and their families, Louise is interested in working with couples (marriage counseling) and with women who are struggling with divorce, anxiety, depression, aging parents, and issues faced by “empty nesters.”
Murphy is Louise’s licensed therapy dog who will periodically accompany Louise to counseling sessions. He is a white golden retriever who is willing to provide a calm and soothing presence to both children and adults.
Louise considers her role as a counselor a privilege as she walks with clients through a myriad of circumstances on their journey through life. Her hope is to work collaboratively with them in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment that will help and encourage them to find hope for their future.
