Family Counseling, LLC
Joanne has been a part of Parkside Family Counseling since 2003. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Spring Arbor University, and a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Siena Heights University. Joanne has over 38 years of experience in the juvenile services field working as a childcare worker, probation officer, and for 13 years as the Director of a juvenile treatment/detention facility, the Maurice Spear Campus.
At Parkside Family Counseling, Joanne provides both individual and family counseling for children, adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience working with at-risk youth and their families. In 1979 Joanne was recognized at the Child Care Worker of the Year for the State of Michigan, was president of the Michigan Juvenile Detention Association from 2006-2008 and was a certified trainer of child care workers for approximately 20 years through the Michigan Association of Children’s Alliances. Joanne was also an adjunct professor from 2008 -2015 at Adrian College in the Criminal Justice program.
When Joanne isn’t at Parkside, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, and being outside in her flower gardens. She loves to travel and enjoys biking, golfing, reading and putting puzzles together.
